More Babies

So, this is Gracie....  I have to say, that of all the babies I have made over the last year, she is my absolute favorite.  Don't ask me why, because I'm not really sure.  Maybe it's her eyes....  Or her expression....  Could be her cute little pug nose....  I really think it's more of the fact that Gracie is one of the first babies I made that I absolutely fell in love with!  I was extremely tempted to keep her for myself, which in the end, I didn't.  But I still love her!

Meet Johnny...  Johnny was, I think my 4th baby of my Lollipop Babies. He is my only "handicapped" baby. lol.  You see, during construction, we had a little opps!  When making the wig, I had been using fabric markers to trace out the pattern pieces and I'd never had a problem before. That is until Johnny....  After I  hot glued and sewed the wig on, I misted Johnny with baby powder scent.  That's when all haywire broke loose!!!! You see, when I misted his head, apparently the maker wasn't completely dry or something (I'm not exactly sure what) and the two liquids combined.  The next thing I knew was that Johnny had blue bruising down his forehead, to his eyes and down the sides of his face and neck!  I was devistated!  Anyway,  I turned Johnny upside down, hoping the blue would sink back into the cotton of his head.  Most of it did, but not all.  In the end result, he looked like he had very light skin "bruising" on his forehead and just above his ears.  I didn't even try to sell him like that, so now a friend has adopted him and he is happy and content.  And from what I hear, there's been no teasing from amongst the other children! lol

Now, I'd like to introduce you to Joseph...  Joseph is about the sweetest natured little boy that I have made.  He was my very first baby of my Lollipop Babies!

Anyway, when I started on his face, which his head was the first part of his body that I had constructed. (Now I construct the body first. The head is the very last part.)  As I was painting the eyes, I just wasn't sure if I liked them or not.  I texted a friend pics of the face. I hadn't even started on the mouth yet. And then I posted the pic onto Facebook Because of his unfinished face I got my very first custom order which was Amanda!

Anyway, my friend fell in love with Joseph, unfinished face and all.  So, as I completed his face and body, I really started seeing what my friend saw and really liked him.  Then when he was completely finished and I posted pics of him on Facebook, she thought I had
changed my mind and decided to sell him.  But, I hadn't changed my mind.  When I put him in the box for shipping, it looked so much like he would start crying.  I couldn't resist, but I took him out of the box and gave him so many extra hugs from Auntie Lizzie before I could even think about reboxing him!  lol.  But, believe it or not, that would not be the last time I would see Joseph, even though he would be living nearly 700 miles away!  A few months later, even after I had made and shipped Johnny to the same friend, she shipped them both back to me for a photo shoot!!! Now that was an experience.  I'll tell you about that in a later post!
